Position Summary

We are looking for a talented Senior Quality Assurance engineer capable to understand the company’s products, develop, maintain, and execute software test plans and strategies and carry out testing of new and old functionality with exploratory, manual, and automated tests to ensure product quality before delivery to clients.

QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, defining preventive actions, debugging and working with development and support teams on corrective actions. You will review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics. The job requires good communication skills, the ability to work in a small team environment, and to deliver on-time and on-quality work.

Main Responsibilities:

• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test case
• Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using industry-standard technologies
• Liaise with internal teams to identify system requirements and expected system behaviour
• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
• Carry out testing of new product features once delivered into the QA/UAT environment and liaise with the project manager and development teams to resolve issues before they are released to clients
• Identify, record, thoroughly document and track bugs. Perform thorough regression testing once bugs are resolved
• Analyse test results to ensure quality of the software and recommend preventive and corrective actions
• Maintain history of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies

Skills & Qualifications:

• Solid experience with testing of web applications (based on JavaScript/React) and Windows desktop applications (based on Java/Eclipse RCP)
• Experience with creating and maintaining detailed test plans and executing them before product releases
• Experience with both functional and non-functional, and manual and automated testing
• Knowledge of end-to-end and unit testing frameworks, such as Selenium, Jest, JUnit, or similar
• Basic (or higher) knowledge of JavaScript
• Practical knowledge of RESTful and WebSocket APIs, and JSON/XML formats
• Experience with RDBMS and SQL
• Be a fast learner and able to take ownership of QA area
• Basic level (or higher) of English
• Bachelor's/College Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent

Bonus Skills (optional, but would be a plus):

• Experience with the financial domain and trading protocols (e.g. FIX)
• Basic (or higher) knowledge of Java
• Basic experience with RCPTT
• Experience with validating implementation against original design (coming from tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar)
• Experience with setting up and managing QA infrastructure
• Experience mentoring more junior QA team members
