Python Developer for a Swiss AI Startup

We are looking for a talented engineer to join our team for a full-time remote position.

Your job

Assaia International Ltd. is working on a deep learning-based system that monitors and analyses aircraft turnarounds using incoming video streams. We provide an Artificial Intelligence solution that watches turnarounds in real time to understand what is happening and offers predictive analysis to better manage operations. We were founded in February 2018 and are working on pilot and production deployments at airports across the whole world.

We currently have a working system developed, 3 signed multi-year contracts and more than 40 customers with which we are in post-pilot negotiations. However, there is still a lot of work to be done to convert it into a scalable and stable product. This is where we rely on you!

We are looking for a Python Developer.

Responsibilities

• Write production-grade Python code for our Machine Learning Platform. This in-house solution enables deep learning at Assaia, including: resource allocation handling, image pre-processing, efficient neural network training, quality control and performance reporting.
• Develop new machine learning pipelines, implement enhancements for existing ones, provide support for the users.
• Carry out Data Science & Computer Vision research and development, we have a rich backlog of interesting and complex technical challenges.
• Participate in our Agile development activities: code reviews, architecture plannings, retrospectives.

Requirements

• Min 3 years programming experience in at least 1 popular OOP language.
• Min 1 year experience in Python.
• University-level knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Basic linux/command line, troubleshooting, working with files.
• Good communication skills.
• Would be a plus:
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Advanced Git.
  • Practical experience with machine learning on TensorFlow.
  • Finished degree in computer science or surrounding areas.
  • Experience with image/video processing.
  • Experience with unit testing.
