Project Technical Lead

Role summary: Own the end-to-end delivery of a web-based 3D bathroom configurator. Lead coordination across client, design, CG, and engineering teams, overseeing all development from planning to release. Manage risks, maintain alignment with client expectations, drive key product decisions, and ensure successful delivery within scope, timeline, and quality targets. This is a hands-on technical role: you set the architecture, stay close to the code, and personally build significant parts of the application — primarily the admin and product-facing frontend.  

Responsibilities:

• Define, review, and maintain the project's technical architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, performance, and alignment with business requirements
• Personally build significant parts of the frontend — in particular a complex admin panel (roles, dashboards, analytics, nested entities)
• Lead sprint planning, task decomposition, and delivery timelines
• Participate in client calls — gather technical requirements, manage expectations, present progress
• Own the product backlog and prioritise features across the development team
• Make day-to-day architectural decisions on product logic, data models, and integrations
• Coordinate with the Graphics Engineer on rendering decisions, and with the backend engineer on API contracts — evaluating estimates and unblocking the team across disciplines
• Ensure delivered solutions meet agreed quality, performance, and maintainability standards
• Define and maintain project documentation and data schemas
• Escalate issues proactively and drive resolution of blockers impacting scope, timeline, or quality

Must-have:

• Strong production frontend background — React + TypeScript at scale, with clean architecture and the ability to personally build and own complex UI
• Experience delivering web-based 3D configurators or similar interactive web products, with solid understanding of how they work under the hood — material systems, product catalogs, SKU integration
• Working understanding of browser-based 3D (Three.js / WebGL) — enough to scope tasks, review decisions, and coordinate with graphics engineers
• Proven experience managing development teams, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering projects to external clients
• Proven experience as a client-facing technical lead on external projects
• Strong communication skills in English (C1+)
• Experience with agile delivery: sprints, backlog grooming, stakeholder updates

Nice to have:

• Experience working with complex product data structures, catalogs, configurable products, rules engines, or ERP/ PIM integrations
• Familiarity with PWA / offline-first architecture
• Background that touches both product and engineering (former tech lead or senior engineer moving toward product)
• Experience working with 3D artists and modellers
