PHP Backend Developer (WordPress & Drupal)

Now Darwin is looking for a PHP Backend Developer (WordPress & Drupal) with solid experience in WordPress and Drupal development. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of backend programming, content management systems, and an eagerness to work on diverse web development projects. Experience with Laravel is a plus and will be considered favorably. 

Tasks: 

• Develop, maintain, and enhance websites and web applications using PHP, primarily on WordPress and Drupal.
• Build and integrate custom modules, plugins, and themes.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and project managers to deliver effective solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and performance issues.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

General requirements:

• 4-5 years of proven experience with PHP development.
• Hands-on experience with WordPress and Drupal backend development.
• Understanding of MySQL and database design.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration practices.
• Experience with Laravel (nice to have).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work with at least 4 hours of overlap with the EST time zone. 

Nice to have skills: 

• Experience with headless CMS approaches or decoupled architecture.
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks.
