DevOps/Backend Developer

We're looking for a Backend developer/DevOps who can architect, build, and maintain the backend infrastructure that keeps our applications running smoothly. You'll need to have a deep understanding of Kubernetes (k8s), Helm, alerting, and monitoring, and be a pro in Rust (preferred) or Python.

Heads up: This isn't just about managing infrastructure; there's a ton of development work involved. So, expertise in Rust and/or Python is a must.

Also: You might need to travel internationally for this role.

What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable and efficient backend systems and services
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters, making sure they're performing well and are reliable
• Create and manage Helm charts to make application deployment and management a breeze
• Implement and maintain comprehensive alerting and monitoring systems to keep an eye on system health and catch issues quickly
• Troubleshoot and fix production issues, focusing on minimizing downtime and impact
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry best practices in backend development and DevOps to improve system performance and maintainability
• Collaborate with development teams to make sure backend services meet application requirements and optimize overall system performance
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to share knowledge and keep coding standards high
• Document system architecture, processes, and troubleshooting guides to share knowledge and help the team
• Deep knowledge of k8s is super important, as this job involves working with k8s at the API level, which means you'll need to know Kubernetes internals and API management inside and out.

What You'll Need

• Deep understanding of Kubernetes (k8s) architecture, networking, storage, and security
• Tons of experience in Linux system administration, including shell scripting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• In-depth knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure), including cloud-native architectures, service integrations, and cost optimization
• Proficiency in Helm chart development, including template customization and complex release management
• Experience with a wide range of monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.) and the ability to design and implement custom monitoring solutions
• Programming skills in Rust, Go, or Python, with experience in backend development frameworks and libraries
• Ability to analyze complex systems, find bottlenecks, and come up with innovative solutions to optimize performance and scalability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both techies and non-techies
• Ability to work well in a team, collaborate with cross-functional teams
