Описание вакансии

Full-Stack Engineer (Front-End focused) at CattleCare - a Silicon Valley company changing the dairy market with the help of video technology (remote).

Cattle Care, ‌an organization dedicated to transforming the dairy farming industry, has been on a remarkable journey since 2017. During this time, the team has diligently developed an operational platform for dairy farms that harnesses the power of Computer Vision technology. In 2021, a significant milestone was achieved with the launch of the flagship product, a people management tool designed specifically for the most labor-intensive and crucial aspect of a dairy farm - the milking parlor. In the year 2022, growth exceeded threefold.

The company helps farm owners by providing daily reports about all the deviations happening in the milking facility. Its game-changing technologies help conduct round-the-clock video monitoring of cattle using commercial equipment and track behavioral signatures for each cow in the herd using computer vision algorithms. Moreover, it helps to understand whether cows are sick or not so that you can react on time and prevent bacteria from spreading into the milk. You probably haven't thought about it but this technology helps not only farmers and their cows to be happier & healthier, but also us as customers - so we buy the best milk from the best producers, without fear that we may get infected with something.

At Cattle Care, using artificial Intelligence, they increase the revenue of dairy farms and decrease GHG emissions, antibiotics, and hormone usage. They secured $3.2M in funding from serial angel investors, VCs, and domain experts. They have 70 farms and $1.4M ARR; the company has grown 3X in 2022 and hit break-even. The new Tech Lead will help Cattle Care scale the business to 140 farms and $5M ARR in 2024.

Currently, the Russian-speaking team of Cattle Care is seeking a talented Full-Stack Engineer with a strong focus on front-end development to join them. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for developing user interfaces for dashboards used by farmers and internal applications aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that improve the well-being of dairy farms and their cattle.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop user interfaces for farmer dashboards and internal company applications.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Implement responsive design principles to ensure compatibility across various devices and screen sizes.

Optimize front-end performance to enhance user experience.

Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in front-end development.

Cattle Care's Tech Stack:

Front-End: latest TypeScript + Next.js + React + Tailwind.

Back-End: PG 15 + Python 3.10 + Django 4.2 + Tailwind + Celery.

Legacy Front-End: React 16 + Redux + Axios + ES2021 + TS + webpack + Bootstrap.

Legacy Back-End: MySQL + Python 3.6 + Django 2.2 + Celery.

Qualifications we are looking for:

Minimum of 3 years of coding experience.

Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.

Experience with Tailwind CSS for front-end styling.

Knowledge of Python and Django for back-end development (experience with Django and Celery is advantageous).

Familiarity with legacy front-end technologies such as React 16, Redux, and Axios.

Experience with legacy back-end technologies including MySQL and older versions of Python and Django is a plus.

Solid understanding of modern web development practices and tools such as webpack.

Fluency in the Russian language, as the technical team predominantly communicates in Russian.

Written & spoken English proficiency for being able to speak to the other team members at Cattle Care.

Strong self-reliance and the ability to create solutions and make decisions on your own with the minimum required confirmations.

Be a proactive team player who's not afraid to speak up for your own opinion - seriously, the company is looking for a person with many ideas, not just an executor.

Organizing skills - you know exactly how to organize your work and personal time and don't want any minute to go to waste.

Goal- & detail-oriented - you can easily adapt to a fast-changing environment without losing your goals and targets.

Working hours:

The schedule is flexible, allowing you to work from any time zone. However, you will be required to attend check-in calls once every two days at 8:00 AM Argentina time, as the Tech Lead is based in Argentina (check your timezone here).

What we offer:

Full-time job (8 working hours per day, 5/2). For this vacancy, we consider only candidates who are able to commit to the needed schedule. We will not consider candidates planning to combine this job with another job.

Remote work. You may be located in almost any country or city, just need a good Internet connection, a computer to work from, and the opportunity to adjust your working schedule to have overlapping hours with the team.

A great opportunity for growth and development in the US-based company.

Stability - this is not project work, we consider only the candidates looking for a long-term commitment of 2+ years.

Quick selection process.
