PitchMe is a London-based HR Tech startup building B2B solutions focused on reengineering the recruitment life cycle and solving the biggest challenges in talent acquisition. We automate sourcing, updating and shortlisting candidates to help recruiters find the best talent up to 80% faster. Our ATS integration automatically keeps candidate information up-to-date, enriches profiles with skills and experience, and identifies the right people for the role. Our mission is to give recruiters the data they need so that they can make the right hires at the perfect time.

Role overview

We are seeking a data scientist to join our team which is driving innovation in hiring. In this role, you will need to combine your software engineering skills with a strong understanding of data-driven problem-solving. You will be responsible for maintaining, evaluating and improving our current models while actively looking for opportunities using new developments in AI.

We are hoping to find someone who not only has the technical skills but also has an interest in solving some unique problems. For example, how do we extract professional skills from GitHub? Or how do we calculate leadership skills based on social media presence? These are the types of challenges that we need your expertise on. You will be working closely with the Head of Product and will need to have an intuition for how data can improve our customer experience.

About you

• 3+ years experience in a professional setting
• Experience with NLP problems: NER, sentence embeddings, unsupervised learning, SOTA models
• Proficiency with Python and machine learning frameworks
• Experience with lean/agile development and test-driven development practices preferred
• Understanding of the AWS ecosystem for ML
• Familiarity with OpenAI: prompt engineering, JSON responses and function calling
• Experience with OCR, CV models and techniques would be beneficial
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

What the job involves

• Take ownership of data science and work directly with the Head of Product and founders
• Plan and present progress on data science work to a business audience
• Learn how our products work, and how our customers think, to evaluate how data science can contribute to customer value
• Work closely with the Engineering team lead and software engineers to ensure our data science stack is integrated into our product
• Evaluate and improve our current models for skills extraction and matching
• Constantly look for new data sources applicable for data extraction for skills assessment purposes
• Implementation of best practices for retraining models as well as monitoring the performance of models in production (MLops)
• Deployment of ML models in the production environment
