Bracket makes life for nontechnical teams easier - they can access data from databases in tools they're familiar with, without engineers writing scripts or building internal tools. The software brings together data from multiple sources and adds the information to the backend database.

Bracket was founded byIan YanuskoVinesh Arun, and Kunal Garg, US-based experts in Product Management, Corporate Strategies, and Engineering. The founders are enthusiastic about developing a fast and no-code way to connect SaaS data tools and databases, so the company is ready to start conquering the market.

Now, the team consists only of the 3 co-founders and they are looking for a Junior Full-stack Developer to work on the front-end and back-end development of the company’s product. What will you do?

  • Work on extending the back-end side of the project - deal with databases and data sources (Airtable, Notion, Excel Sheets, etc.). You are expected to work on Node.js, the company’s deployment stack is on the Heroku platform.
  • The company plans to build service-oriented architecture on AWS, so your responsibilities will include system designing tasks.
  • Front-end related tasks for extending the current Next.js typescript-based web app.
  • Assist with other front-end and back-end tasks.

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent English skills - we expect you to have an Advanced level of English, so you are able to communicate with the Founders and the team in English on a daily basis. 
  • At least 1 year of experience in back-end development. 
  • Professional experience with Node.js and Next.js.
  • Excellent knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience in working with MongoDB, ODM Mongoose.
  • Self-reliance - you are able to work independently and ready to take ownership.
  • Proactivity - you have a strong desire to help the company grow. You are open to new information and communication, and you’re not afraid to pitch your approach to problems and propose solutions.
  • Transparency and communicative nature - the team chats frequently and are open to answer any questions that you think might be stupid, so they expect you to be not afraid to chat with the co-founders and to ask questions if you have any.
  • Responsibility - you can analyze the tasks and set your deadlines. You are autonomous and can work on your own. 
  • Learnability and strong desire to develop - you’re hungry for learning and gaining new skills in the field.
  • Organizing skills - you know how to work remotely and never let a minute go to waste.


Not necessary but will be a great advantage:

  • Knowledge of or experience in system designing.
  • 2-3 years of relevant working experience.

 

Working hours:

Your working hours may be flexible, but you should be able to have at least 1 overlapping hourwith the team to have a stand-up call daily (California time). Currently, the team conducts group meetingsat 7 pm California time (PST), sothat would be great if you can attend at that time, however, they are ready to adjust and have a call with you at another time.
