DevOps Engineer

Smartcat is a fully remote startup company. We are creating an operating system for the global translation industry. Our team believes that the world becomes ever-more connected and interdependent. DevOps Mission

Supporting and enhancing product infrastructure, improving stability and reliability of our systems, expanding monitoring and announcement system, load balancing and scaling.

The ultimate purpose is to make our deployment modern, economic, resilient, maintenance-friendly, and add continuous monitoring.

Requirements

• Experience building, managing and diagnosing distributed nets
• Experience in DevOps (CI/CD pipeline build, IaC implementation, multiple branch deployment)
• Solid understanding of container-based technologies and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker). Ability to deploy and manage them (directly or using Helm Charts)
• Experience using configuration management tools and understanding IaC tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.)
• Experience in first-line support of scalable cloud applications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Linux/Unix Sysadmin skills
• Ability to set up and use Prometheus and Grafana
• Upper-Intermediate English
• Readiness to work in a highly intense startup environment, requiring extreme focus, a sense of urgency, and determination to break through
• Integrity, full commitment, and a strong sense of ownership

• Elasticsearch cluster, indicis for several billions of documents
• ELK (EFK) for log collection, Prometheus and Grafana for metrics and monitoring
• Migration from Windows hosting to Kubernetes cluster
• CI/CD chains on TeamCity, Octopus Deploy
