Senior Scala /Java Developer

At Arrival, our team is creating best-in-class electric vehicles using a radical new method of design and production. Our New Method takes our portfolio of patented technologies created in-house, and combines it with assembly in Arrival Microfactories. It’s a groundbreaking approach, leading to products with maximum functionality, peak efficiency, and an elevated experience – at a much more competitive price than other electric vehicles, and even fossil fuel vehicles.

Now we are looking for a Scala developer for the Data Platform. This platform is responsible for all data management across the whole company as well as on-premise inside all Arrival Microfactories. Research and development are ongoing: nothing is written in stone yet, so you can influence our decisions and the technologies we use.

Responsibilities:

• Developing the core of Data Platform.
• Building new streaming pipelines and core streaming framework.
• Optimization and Performance tuning.
• R&D for new challenges.

Expertise:

• Proficiency with Java or Scala Core (3+ years).
• Strong knowledge of SQL (2+ years).
• Extensive experience in enterprise development (2+ years).
• Excellent knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with Git/Maven.
• Fluent English.

We'd love it if you have:

• Understanding of the principles of distributed systems.
• NoSQL databases (graph, document, key-value).
• Data buses (Kafka, Rabbit, Pulsar, e.t.c.).
• Experience with Linux (as a power user).
