The Salesforce Solutions Architect is a customer-facing domain expert who can apply broad technical skills, with deep industry knowledge and business acumen, supporting sales teams in developing value propositions that align to our customer’s business strategies.
Requirements:
PRE-SALES:
- Create high-level technical and solution architectures for sales proposals as needed;
- Participate in sales calls and occasional client visits to present architecture;
- Act as liaison between sales and delivery teams to understand client’s budgets and needs and to educate sales team on level of effort required;
- Create pre-sales presentations / demos / prototypes as necessary;
- Assist Sales Team with RFP responses.
CLIENT FACING:
- Clearly articulate business architecture recommendations to client (mission/vision, capability models, capability assessments) and technical architecture (current and future state diagrams, solution best practices, reference architectures, design patterns);
- Understand the customer need and present an architecture that addresses the technical and business requirements;
- Participate in the delivery of solution best practices, reference architectures, educational sessions and industry summits to existing customers, partners and to internal audiences;
- Become a trusted advisor to CIO/CTO/EA level client contacts and their teams;
- Perform architecture analysis and recommendations for clients;
- Perform as a development team member to deliver the recommended architecture to the client;
- Guide other development team members to deliver the recommended architecture to the client.
ESTIMATES:
- Create high-level budget and planning estimates for new opportunities;
- Maintain estimating worksheets to facilitate high-level estimating process;
- Participate in estimate reviews and project level retrospectives aimed at improving the overall estimate accuracy of future projects.
TECHNICAL R&D:
- Research new technologies and make recommendations on technology direction;
- Determine which technologies to leverage in customer driven architectures, based upon technical knowledge, industry experience, industry standard EA frameworks and EA methodologies;
- Present technical "lunch and learn"-type sessions on new technologies and products;
- Stay on top of industry trends, determine what technologies we should be focusing on and recommending to our clients, what technologies and IT areas of focus are becoming the next big thing.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
- Attain and maintain certifications that strategically align with the company’s growth plans;
- Participate in all appropriate industry, sales, and procedural training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in the position;
- Mentor and guide more junior technical resources;
- Plan and coordinate a lunch & learn / presentation plan that all members of the technical team can participate in.
SOLUTION DELIVERY ASSISTANCE:
- Assist delivery team as needed with technical design review, architectural problems or questions, code review, prototypes and/or detailed estimates.
