Software engineer

The international team of Weigandt Consulting invites software developers to join a big international project which includes migration and support of existing solutions, modification and implementation of new systems.

You will contribute to the development, delivery, and maintenance of business solutions based on different technologies and products (Oracle Retail, Oracle SOA, Microsoft Azure, open-source products).

Main responsibilities:

• Assist and participate in designing and implementing technical, solution, and integration architecture;
• Identify, analyze, and design functional and technical requirements;
• Create products configuration based on customer requirements;
• Design, develop, and execute data migration;
• Assist in the creation of test scripts and scenarios;
• Design, develop, and test application modules, required modifications and extensions;
• Assist in deployment activities and application go-live;
• Maintain, tune, and enhance implemented applications.

Skills and Experience required:

• 2+ years of experience in developing for Oracle/MS SQL/Postgres databases, including:
  • Developing complex SQL queries;
  • Designing DB structures (tables, indexes, views, etc.) based on the functional and non-functional requirements;
  • SQL performance tuning (ability to read and understand execution plans, identify bottlenecks, and resolve the issues);
• Experience in shell scripting (Linux);
• Experience in technical designs development;
• Experience in shell scripting for Windows (PowerShell) is a plus;
• Java EE experience is a plus;
• Participation in the implementation of enterprise-level systems (Retail, ERP, CRM, ECP) is a plus;
• Experience in requirements gathering, and functional design development is a plus;
• Experience in system integration design and development (ETL, Web-services, etc.) and knowledge of integration middleware systems like MS BizTalk or similar is also a plus;
• Good understanding and knowing retail business are welcome;
• Structured, analytical, and thorough working methods;
• Organizational and planning skills;
• Independent as well as being able to work in teams;
• Power of initiative, proven business attitude, flexible and self-confident;
• Good communications skills and interpersonal skills with people of various backgrounds, technical as well as non-technical;
• Good written English language skills.
