DevOps engineer for a Swiss AI Startup

We are looking for a talented engineer to join our team for a full-time remote position.

Your job

Assaia International Ltd. is working on a deep learning-based system that monitors and analyses aircraft turnarounds using incoming video streams. We provide an Artificial Intelligence solution that watches turnarounds in real time to understand what is happening and offers predictive analysis to better manage operations. We were founded in February 2018 and are working on pilot and production deployments at airports across the whole world.

We currently have a working system developed, 3 signed multi-year contracts and more than 40 customers with which we are in post-pilot negotiations. However, there is still a lot of work to be done to convert it into a scalable and stable product. This is where we rely on you!

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Modernization of the infrastructure, such as migration of services to Kubernetes, implementing IaaC, etc.
• Automating provisioning of the cloud resources, developing CI/CD pipelines for our services.
• Improving monitoring and alerting.
• Setting up new infrastructure-related tools and systems and integrating them with existing services and infrastructure.
• Identifying and troubleshooting arising issues with running real-time setups, services, networks and other infrastructure things.
• Automating provisioning of the cloud resources.

Requirements

• Min 5 years experience in system administration or min 1 year in DevOps.
• Good communication skills.
• English: pre-intermediate and higher.

Main skills:

• Good Linux knowledge, ability to troubleshoot system-level issues.
• Strong understanding of networks (including routing, private network technologies, internet working, cloud networks, etc).
• Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, OCI, etc). 
• Experience with provisioning and deployment tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc).
• Experience with monitoring infrastructure and applications (Zabbix, Prometheus).
• Experience with cloud Infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Programming in scripting languages (Python, bash).

At least some experience with:

• Kubernetes or any other container orchestration tool.

Would be a plus:

• Git and CI tools (Gitlab). 
• Understanding of DevOps concepts and software release best practices.
• Experience with hardware (including modems, routers and network devices).
• Finished degree in computer science or surrounding areas.
• Experience with video processing.
