Assaia International Ltd. is working on a deep learning-based system that monitors and analyses aircraft turnarounds using incoming video streams. We provide an Artificial Intelligence solution that watches turnarounds in real time to understand what is happening and offers predictive analysis to better manage operations. We were founded in February 2018 and are working on pilot and production deployments at airports across the whole world.

We currently have a working system developed, 3 signed multi-year contracts and more than 40 customers with which we are in post-pilot negotiations. However, there is still a lot of work to be done to convert it into a scalable and stable product. This is where we rely on you!

We are looking for a Director of Software development.

Responsibilities

This job consists of in-depth understanding of the technology, high- and low-level architecture of our solutions. You will need to have an equally good understanding of what happens with ML, Backend, Frontend and Infrastructure and QA.

• On a daily basis coordinate efforts of multiple technical teams towards both internal sprint-based schedule and external customer-facing deadlines.
• Ensure task tracking processes are followed correctly. Be responsible for making the current state and progress transparent, trackable and understandable.
• Be able to review Python and JavaScript code and even fix small bugs.
• Directly report to our UK-based Delivery Director, be able to present him the status in written and/or verbal English

• Product management/analytics – experience and capability of making good decisions are very welcome.
• People management: forming teams, collecting and giving feedback, hiring.
• We are a startup and small but urgent tasks or randomly emerging little projects happen from time to time. You will be expected to handle some of those.

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in Software Development, 3+ team lead experience.
• Programming experience is required. Knowledge of Python is a big plus.
• Experience in managing remote software development teams.
• Knowledge of the principles of building the architecture of complex systems and services.
• Knowledge of best practices in technology and IT management areas as well as wide practical experience of their adaptation and implementation.
• Strong understanding of the software development cycle.
• Strong analytical, organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-moving environment.
• Result-oriented with respect to processes.
• English: fluent, both written and verbal.
