System Engineer

Buro Global technical team are looking for a Systems Engineer with experience running, supporting and monitoring the current buro247 infrastructure high scale systems - 3 Hetzner root servers + AWS S3.

Buro Global is the HQ for buro247.com, with a head office in London, UK.

We are looking for someone to help us continuingly build the infrastructure for our global licensee business, ensuring speed and up time is optimal and the best and latest technologies available are considered to service our business in a way that aligns to strategic goals.

What You’ll Do

• You will support and extend Ansible scripts to automate processes of delivering and supporting current services.
• Empower product developers to run their high-scale services and data processing workloads on our platforms in an automated, self-service fashion.
• Collaborate cross functionally and share your deep understanding of your services and domain.
• Work on complex technical challenges such as:
• You will support current buro247 infrastructure (3 Hetzner root servers + AWS S3)

What We Are Looking For

• Experience working with ansible or saltstack is must have
• Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or any field similar
• 5+ years of professional system administration experience
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash or Python)
• Extensive experience building and owning large-scale geographically distributed backend systems
• Highly skilled at Linux administration
• Experience designing, implementing and operating infrastructure and services at scale, including open-source and commercial third-party solutions.
• Experience and knowledge of administrating Hetzner, AWS and S3 is highly preferential
• Interest in mass media or working experience at digital media companies is a bonus
