Our customer is the industry’s only company exclusively focused on Java and the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and widely known for its JVMs solutions, is looking for a Customer Support Engineer
Job Duties:
- Provide first and second-level support for Azul’s Zing JVM and Zulu JVM products
- First level support responsibilities include:
- Onboarding customers
- Answering questions and solving simple issues
- Second level support responsibilities include:
- perform in-depth analysis and develop resolution strategies for issues such as:
- application crashes
- application performance, including both throughput and latency issues
- gc log analysis
- heap dump analysis
- first pass crash dump analysis
- application and server performance optimization
- JVM and OS configuration, monitoring and measurement
- perform in-depth analysis and develop resolution strategies for issues such as:
- Other responsibilities
- Coordinate with Azul Software Engineering to define and resolve bugs and enhancements
- Maintain internal wikis and external knowledge base and user forums
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information systems, Mathematics, or related subject
- Three years of experience application support or application development, especially Java app support and development.
- Strong Linux background, including monitoring and tuning Linux and writing shell scripts
- High level language experience, including Java
- Experience with any of: Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere, Glassfish
- Good working knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Experience with Java and Linux crash analysis
- Windows and Mac experience
- Good written and spoken English. This is essential, we do business in English.
