We are looking for experienced Python developers to participate in creating the backend for Besample products. [Besample](http://besample.app) is an early-stage startup based in the US that assists social scientists in recruiting respondents and conducting research worldwide. Our ultimate goal is to empower scientists to significantly improve the quality of their research by enabling studies to reach a diverse group of respondents from around the globe instead of current biased samples representing only WEIRD (Western, educated, industrial, rich, and democratic) countries. So, we have much work for talented software developers. As a backend developer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the Python backend for Researcher’s Platform and other Besample products. This will include implementing the business logic and data models, designing and building APIs, and implementing the integrations with third-party crowdsourcing platforms, survey engines, etc. You will also deal with CI/CD for our cloud infrastructure. Working in an early-stage startup, you can participate in creating a brand new system from scratch, including code (a lot of code), architecture, and system design. To join us, you need to meet following requirements: - At least three years of development experience in Python - Understanding of the client-server architecture and the ability to design API - Knowledge of SQL (we don't write code in SQL and don't like stored functions, but candidates whose experience of communicating with the database is limited to ORM usually are not suitable for us) - Understanding the principles of system design: reliability, performance, scaling, etc. - Ability to adjust the working schedule to work with US-based colleagues (no need to work entirely in the EST timezone, but a significant working time intersection is needed). Also, we expect that you’re a self-driven person who can solve complex problems, understanding that "completed task" means “deployed to production,” not “transferred to QA.” Joining a startup in its early stages can lead to quick professional growth and potential leadership opportunities. And last but not least - you will get a competitive salary, and also we have an options plan for key team members.
