Let’s take a quiz - I’ll give you some collocations and you type in the comments how many of them you think you have. Ready? Self-awareness, self-management, self-reflection, and emotional intelligence. How many do you have? All 4?! wow 🍷🤵 that’s impressive, as at average, people suffer from NOT having well developed emotional intelligence, or self-reflection. “What for and how is it connected to my career, Olga?!” - you might ask. Well, self-consciousness! 90% of people make their career choices based on whatever feeling but not self-consciousness, that prevents them becoming wealthy and successful faster 🤦♀️ Those are other benefits you will open up enhancing your EI: 1️⃣ Building strong relationships: empathizing with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders, will foster positive and productive relationships. By understanding their emotions and perspectives better, you can effectively collaborate, resolve conflicts, and build strong networks. 2️⃣ Becoming trustworthy leader: you are more involved into the needs and concerns of your employees, creating a supportive and inclusive work environment. By recognizing and appreciating the strengths of others, you’ll empower your team members to reach their full potential (not forcing but empowering is the key). 3️⃣ Conflict resolution: you’ll start approaching conflicts as opportunities for growth and understanding. They can manage emotions during tense situations, find common ground, and work towards win-win solutions. 4️⃣ Self-Awareness and Self-Management: you’ll better understand your strengths, weaknesses, and triggers. This self-awareness empowers you to manage your emotions, handle stress, and make informed decisions, leading to increased productivity and personal growth. Is your manager good at this or you have to practice self-regulation skills every time you meet them? 😏 and whether it’s beneficial to be an employee with high EI or it’s some sort of curse? #emotionalintelligence #careertips #careerdevelopment

Learn from Sheldon Cooper and Joey on how to get a dream job right (and wrong) 😎 Set the right motivation Don't be like Rachel from "Friends": fear isn't a great motivator. Don't quit your job before you have a new one lined up. And if you want to switch careers, gain the necessary skills first. Be like Chris Gardner from "The Pursuit of Happyness": set a big but achievable goal and work towards it. Invest time and effort in learning new skills for a promising career. Don't quit your old job until your new one is secure. 😉 Present yourself effectively Don't be like Joey from "Friends": be honest in your resume. Highlight your real skills and experience, not things you've made up. Avoid irrelevant information. Be like Jack Campbell from "The Family Man": update your resume to the specific job you're applying for. Show that you understand the company and the position. If you lack experience, demonstrate transferable skills and relevant knowledge. 📖 Widen your network Don't be like Alicia Florrick from "The Good Wife": avoid relying on personal relationships for job opportunities unless it's strictly professional. Be like Sheldon Cooper from "The Big Bang Theory": use your network strategically. Ask for introductions based on your professional qualities and accomplishments. Make it clear how you can be of value to the other person. Remember that finding a great job takes time, effort, and smart strategies. Learn from Sheldon Cooper and Joey's mistakes, and you'll be well on your way to career success. 🎥 Well, who's your favorite fictional character who inspires you in your career and why? #careergoals #career #careertips #careerdevelopment #careergrowth

I bet you didn’t know those life hacks on how to create an attractive LinkedIn profile for recruiters 🔍 Last week our Career Expert Nadia Obschina shared the insights on how recruiters actually see your profile and which sections play a pivotal role in LinkedIn algorithms, let’s check which of them you’ve been using and which ones were new for you - share in the comments 👇 1️⃣ It takes 5 sec for a recruiter to make the decision: Yes or No. When they open you page, they see your banner, photo, headline, name, location and mutual connections - and that’s how they make the decision whether to keep scrolling the feed or get to know you better. So, the main task for you is to make “before about” section eye-catching 🎯👀 2️⃣ Creative Banner: should add value to your professional brand but not duplicate the information which is already in your headline, name, location, etc. Be creative and thoroughly analyse job postings - who is desirable candidate for them? what qualities do they have? - well, got it? 😏 3️⃣ Powerful Headline: Instead of simply stating your job title, highlight your unique value proposition and showcase your expertise using adjectives and numbers! 4️⃣ Telling Story About: Your about IS NOT the summary from CV. About is your chance to make a lasting impression. Use it to provide a concise overview of your professional journey, key accomplishments, and areas of expertise. Try to create the feeling that you and recruiter have been knowing each other for ages 👥 5️⃣ Highlight Achievements with the exact Results: When describing your work experience, focus on the impact you made. Highlight specific achievements and quantify them with measurable results. Also, this is your chance to keep creating the personal connection with a recruiter by adding a media files - don’t forget to make the description for it 🗣️ I have more tips to share with you, should I post more of them? - tell me in the comments 🪧 Remember, your LinkedIn profile is your personal brand. By following these insights, you can create a profile that grabs the attention of recruiters and positions you as a top candidate in the eyes of potential employers. Polish your profile, engage with the community, and open doors to exciting career opportunities!

🎯 Attention, please! It’s time to reveal a the truth - working good enough is not enough! Why is it like that?! - well, the biggest thing is in determination of this “good”. You and your manager might understand this “good” in an absolutely different way: ➰ In terms of your workload and what the company's goals are ➰ In terms of metrics to use for your performance evaluation. ➰ In terms of the quality of your work It’ll be not nice to hear but the main reason of such miscommunication is that you don’t talk to you manager enough. Statistic says, at average, employees spend only 1% of the time discussing the results, although the bear minimum is 20%! 😱 So, how to fix that 👇 1️⃣ Initiate the evaluation process - read my previous post to learn how to get ready for performance evaluation 2️⃣ Are your goals aligned with the business goals? If not, you’re in trouble as it’ll be harder to justify any increase. What you should do is that your personal development plan and long-term career plan are incorporated into the company's goals and your manager's goals, so that they clearly understand the value you bring. 3️⃣ Choose metrics that benefits you Establish your own benchmarks (what will be considered a good result?). If you wanna growth, set flexible goals for yourself. It’s unlikely to get a promotion by just showing how good you are in your CURRENT role. 4️⃣ Choose the most appropriate way to speak out about your results Find out what channels you can use to share your results: an internal portal, a newsletter, group calls with colleagues from other offices. Talk about your projects and their impact on the business, increasing your visibility. 5️⃣ Use hidden opportunities For example, I managed a partnership network in Europe, and one of my partners received an award. The global function leader congratulated him in an email and put me in RIC. I replied with congratulations to this partner and put two of my bosses in copy, listing everything we did together (as was outlined in my goals) that led to success. I didn't praise myself directly, but the email spoke for itself. I received a recognition for the project but it might have stayed unnoticed. 6️⃣ Build a supportive network If only you and your manager know about your results, that's a problem. You should have a strong supportive network of at least 10 people who understand your value, know what you are working on. If you collaborate with people from a other departments and their manager has the right to assess your performance as well, build vertical connections as too. 7️⃣ Emphasize how your results are connected to company’s goals When you report that the work is done, point out the value of your project: what exactly it will affect, what business KPIs it will or might increase. What are your thoughts on going beyond "good enough" in the workplace? Selling yourself is sinful... No! Stop thinking like that, following these steps 🔽 Step 1: Know your limiting belief The first step to overcoming any limiting belief is to recognize it. Write down the belief that is holding you back. For example: "Sales people are pushy and obnoxious." Step 2: Identify the benefits Limiting beliefs often serve a purpose, such as protecting us or justifying our inaction. Benefits of believing that "Sales people are pushy and obnoxious": You don't have to put in any effort. You can just post your resume and wait for employers to magically recognize your worth. You can avoid feeling like those "pushy" sales people by staying above it all. Step 3: Assess your risks Are you uncomfortable talking about yourself and downplay your accomplishments? Or do you get angry when you have to "sell" yourself and come across as aggressive to recruiters? The result is the same: you're not getting what you want. Step 4: Check your reality Look around for examples that disprove your belief. I'm sure you can find people who are great at selling themselves without being pushy or obnoxious. Step 5: Imagine your life without the belief Would your shopping experiences be more enjoyable? Would it be easier to package your skills? Would you be able to enjoy the job search process? Step 6: Formulate a supportive belief Replace your limiting belief with a supportive one. For example: "Confidence is attractive. It allows me to confidently and openly present my accomplishments." Find a new belief that inspires you, not one that weighs you down. Congratulations! You've worked through your limiting beliefs. Now, solidify your success by developing your self-promotion skills. You can start with creating a sales-oriented resume. Remember that selling yourself is not about being pushy or whatnot. It's about confidently presenting your value to others. When you believe in yourself and your worth, it shows. And that will make you irresistible to potential employers and clients. 😎
