Congrats Kong T. Nguyen! Proud to welcome you as the new VP of Drug Discovery at OPTIC!
Excited to be part of Atomwise's landmark paper in Nature Scientific Reports highlighting the results of the AIMS (Artificial Intelligence Molecular Screen) initiative that establish the AtomNet #AI platform as a viable alternative to high-throughput screening (HTS) for #DrugDiscovery. The study verifies AtomNet's ability to consistently discover structurally novel chemical matter by applying the AI platform to 318 targets through collaborations with over 250 academic institutions across 30 countries, representing the largest and most comprehensive virtual HTS campaign to date. Read the press release: https://lnkd.in/gXpaWhAm Read the paper: https://lnkd.in/gGUjQsDx Many thanks to the Atomwise team, especially the CADD/Production team for this incredible work!

I regularly find myself feeling dumb. That's because I'm surrounded by incredibly smart people. This is a conscious choice. I'd argue, being the dumbest person in the room is an underrated privilege. It's uncomfortable, but it's incredibly beneficial. Conversely, if you're always the smartest person in the room, it might mean you're in the wrong room. I grew up on a poor neighborhood of post-USSR Moscow in the 90s, an environment where I often was smarter than those around me. However, they were mostly stronger and meaner. So whenever I heard the phrase, "Oh, so you think you're smart?" it usually meant I was about to get my ass kicked. My perspective shifted when I transferred into a STEM school in the 8th grade. There, I discovered what it was like to not understand my peers for a good reason — not because I could not speak the prison slang, but because I hadn't read enough books. It was a priceless experience. Since then, seeking out the "smartest room" has become a life strategy. That's why I worked night shifts at a local ISP tech support call center since high school. For the same reason, I left my first profitable but simple business to join Google. And that's why now, I'm excited to be building at the intersection of AI and Life-sciences, even though I'm struggling to keep up with my team on the knowledge of biochemistry. Being in an environment where you're the smartest but not in a position of power teaches you to keep your mouth shut. If you're in power as well, being the smartest can lead to laziness and dull your sharpness. However, if everyone around you is smarter, there's only one thing left to do: relax your ego and embrace growth.

I am thrilled to share some incredible achievements of our rockstar team. Last year we raised $1.5M pre-seed round led by A16Z GAMES SPEEDRUN. Since we started Linq.gg: - We’ve built and launched fintech Infrastructure for Real Money Games - Won the trust of top global game publishers with 9bn game downloads - Launched 2 games, have 3 games launching soon and more in the pipeline We help game publishers to tap into new revenue streams: - Start fast: we can get real money skill game live in just 4 weeks - Minimum friction: we are the only natively embedded and compliant solution - We are aligned to scale user acquisition PvP for real money is just the start. Our mission is to enable real-life economies in games — with money, assets, transactions and marketplaces. We help game producers to unlock new game mechanics, in a safe, secure and compliant environment. We are building UGC Payments and P2P Transfers as a Service. We believe these are the building blocks for a new wave, even bigger than free-to-play! 🚀 Many thanks to the Linq team, my co-founder Kevin Cubitt, our friends, trusted advisors and investors Andrew Chen, Jonathan Lai, Sergey Brui, Daniel King, Nikita Leonov, Anton Chernyagov, Andrew Lee, Troy Kirwin, Jack Soslow, Joshua Lu, Robin Guo, Samira Behrouzan, Jordan Mazer, Peter Blackwood for your great help on our wonderful journey 🙌 #RealMoneyGames #UGC #A16ZInvestment #gamedev #fintech

Exciting news! We have been invited to attend our first JPM Healthcare Conference, and we couldn't be more thrilled to connect with pharma companies interested in research partnerships with Bioptic. Bioptic.io is like "Google for molecules" - our generative AI engine scans trillions of compounds to identify novel drug candidates that are similar by activity, but might have completely different structures. It takes you to the parts of chemical space that you'd never go to otherwise. If you're attending the conference and want to meet up, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'd love to connect! #JPMHealthcareConference #Bioptic #AIinPharma #DrugDiscovery #ai

I worked at Google for 13 years. I resigned in 2021 and moved on to explore life further. Here's what happened next... For half a year, I just rested. Rode my bike, wrote a blog, recorded music. At some point I started to miss working with smart people, and founded OPTIC. I was lucky enough to find great co-founders, investors, and a team. We got into AI research at the intersection of industries. Our first product — Optic.xyz, a detector of fake digital art, based on our proprietary Similarity Search technology, was at the intersection of AI and Web3.. It became a market leader within a year and generated several million dollars in revenue. But the NFT market crashed, and we decided to exit. We sold this asset to Yakoa and moved on. Our second product, AIorNot.com — a detector of AI-generated media, we launched right before the whirlwind of fakes like "Pope in Balenciaga." The service took off immediately and got featured in top media outlets and saw amazing organic growth. In September, we spun it off into a separate company AI or Not. Meanwhile, my co-founders and I moved on again to explore the intersection of AI and Bio. This time applying our Similarity Search technology for small molecule drug discovery: http://www.bioptic.io We believe that soon neural networks will be able to generate not only pictures and texts but also formulas for new cancer drugs. It's insanely interesting! These days, I'm taking classes in chemistry and biology, going to scientific congresses, hanging out with scientists in labs, and thanking the universe for the new opportunity to explore life. This time literally: to research Life as a scientific phenomenon.

Excited to announce a significant milestone: after seeing a tremendous growth of AIorNOT.com, we officially spun it off into a new, independent company: AI or Not, now led by a fantastic new CEO, Anatoly Kvitnitsky. Anatoly brings unique expertise of leading Growth at Trulioo. Combined with the world-class AI research team joining him from OPTIC, I'm sure the new venture is poised to make a substantial impact in defending digital authenticity in the age of generative AI. As OPTIC shifts its focus to revolutionizing drug discovery with AI (bioptic.io), we're confident in AI or Not's ability to continue our legacy of excellence and innovation.
