The reality of job hunting in 2024 🎪🤡
It's been two months since I was laid off and let me tell you, finding a new job has been a real struggle. Here's what I've been facing:
1. There are hardly any job openings available, making it tough to even find options to apply for.
2. When I do find a job posting, it's like a race against the clock. Within just two hours, there are already over 100 applications and they stop accepting any more.
3. Even after managing to apply, I often get rejected without any explanation. It's discouraging when my experience matches the job, but I'm left in the dark about why I wasn't chosen.
4. Companies keep their salary budget hidden, leaving me guessing during negotiations. When I suggest a number, it often seems way higher than what they can offer, but they never reveal their budget, basically choosing someone who asks for much less.
5. I've had to complete countless personality and cognitive tests, some of which seem completely irrelevant to the job. Questions like "do you love flowers" or rating my artistic abilities on a scale of 1 to 5 leave me wondering if these tests really make sense in the recruitment process.
6. With almost 4 years of experience, it's shocking to see job offers in Europe ranging from 800 to 1200 euros gross. Such low pay is simply not acceptable for someone with the qualifications expected for a middle to senior position.
It's a tough time for both job seekers and businesses. I've never experienced anything like this before and I wish the recruitment process could be more transparent and provide valuable feedback. The current system feels like it's building walls and making things unnecessarily complicated. People aren't being treated well and fair compensation seems like a distant dream.
Is there anyone else experiencing the same? I wish to see more stories revealed.
