DevOps Engineer

Orion Innovation Turkey Istanbul, Turkey (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

• Partner with development and operations teams to develop practical automation solutions and custom modules.
• Lead team initiatives to continuously refine our deployment practices for improved reliability, repeatability, and security.
• Write code and scripts to automate provisioning of services and to configure services, using tools and languages including ARM, PowerShell, JSON, Python, and Git.
• Design effective monitoring / alerting (for conditions such as application-errors, high memory usage) and log aggregation approaches (to quickly access logs for troubleshooting or generate reports for trend analysis) to proactively notify business stakeholders of issues and communicate metrics, working closely with these stakeholders, using tools including Azure Monitor, App Insights and Prometheus.
• Configure build pipelines to support automated testing and deployments using Azure DevOps, WhiteSource and SonarQube to test code quality and help optimize them for performance and scalability.
• Clearly document and diagram deployment-specific aspects of architectures and environments, work closely with development teams to create solution runbooks, playbooks, and knowledge documents.
• Troubleshoot issues in production and other environments, applying debugging and problem-solving techniques working closely with the Development team.

Qualifications:

• Azure DevOps Expert certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience in the technology Operations/Development or System Administrations field.
• Strong JSON, YAML and PowerShell experience required
• Understand how to automate builds for developer environments from development through production within a Continuous Delivery model.
• Experience of practical implementations of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools with Azure DevOps or GitHub
• Required to understand the Scrum Agile methodology having worked in a Scrum team.
• Strong experience with Azure Cloud
• 2+ years of Kubernetes, Docker, Linux/Windows administration
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible Tower, Chef, or Puppet
• Solid knowledge of SQL, and non-relational (NoSQL) databases
• Solid knowledge of networking, firewalls, load balancers etc.
• Experience with IT operations in a 24/7 always-on, always-available service model
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately with technical teams.
• A strong understanding of container administration and orchestration
• Fluency in at least one programming language such as Ruby, Java, Angular, .Net, JavaScript / Node.js, Python or C#
• Familiarity with at least one IAC / CM tool such as CloudFormation, ARM, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Familiarity with at least one of the following code build/deploy tools Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Experience with monitoring/alerting tools such as Azure App Insights, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, and New Relic
