Senior Front End Architect Web

Our frontend community across idealo needs alignment in topics like page-speed, cross-browser compatibility, user activity tracking, cookie management, bot-management and many more. Establishing structures and communication channels that improve decentral collaboration will therefore be the key to success for our Web Senior Architect Web (m|f|x) who we are hiring in full-time or part-time.

Your tasks

• You find the optimal architecture for our different idealo frontends along more than 20 teams and are responsible for a vision which you are implementing together with those teams.
• You ensure that cross-sectional aspects such as page speed, cross-browser compatibility, tracking, internationalization, modularization and accessibility are solved across the board in such a way that the teams can effectively develop their respective pages and modules with the greatest independence possible.
• You advise development teams, Product Owners, CTO, CPO and Head of UX on good decisions in the web front end architecture of the respective areas.
• You establish communication and decision-making formats with the management to answer overarching web front end architecture questions that are sustainable across teams and in the spirit of idealo.
• You work closely with the design system team as well as with the frontend community in order to make a meaningful reusability and use of synergy effects possible in the long term.

Skills & requirements

• You bring several years of practical experience in the development of complex B2C web front ends and have gained practical experience with relevant patterns such as self-contained systems or micro front ends.
• You bring very solid knowledge in web standards and current web frameworks, especially React and Node.js.
• You have helped others understand these frameworks and use them in a targeted and effective way.
• You like to bring the right people to the table, enable participation, and support effective decision making.
• You've worked in agile product teams before and know the process models (A/B Testing, Data Driven Development, You build it you run it).
• You are interested in Domain-Driven Design and Event-Driven Architecture and can bring your knowledge of these to discussions.
• You are passionate about the interaction between architecture and organization (development).
