We are looking for a DevOps engineer to join Azul Platform Core development team. You will work closely with development, performance analysis, and QA groups and your results will be crucial for timely and high-quality decision making as well as the efficiency of the whole company.
Location: St.Petersburg or Remote
What You Will Be Doing
- You'll be working with a team of product developers and QA engineers in a Tools and Infrastructure Automation role in order to help our engineering team to achieve greater efficiency.
- You'll be writing in variety of scripting languages in order to write self-service automation to let engineers help themselves, or having our infrastructure detect & self-correct problems.
- Participate in internal team meetings to support and plan and later implement improvements and bug fixes for the infrastructure
- Participate in internal Azul meetings related to customer support to support, plan and later implement improvements and bug fixes for the infrastructure where it is required for customer satisfaction
- You will be building new infrastructure and work with CI/CD tools, data storage toos etc (examples are: Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, Gitlab). Jenkins pipelines planned to be used
What You Bring To The Team
- Experience building and maintaining infrastructure with a mindset to always automate the “boring” parts and monitor the “important” parts
- A keen interest in problem-solving. Misbehaving services are more "interesting" than "annoying"
- A positive attitude around learning new skills
- Excitement to help Engineers work on cool new stuff while making sure they don’t blow up the network or servers when they try to innovate to the next level.
- 2-3 years minimum working in a DevOps role
- Cloud experience, preferably AWS
- Interest in troubleshooting distributed systems
- Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
You Should Have
- Solid understanding of software development process and modern practices, continuous integration, popular tools and platforms used for automation in this area.
- Thinking of infrastructure as code. Experience with tools like this would help - Cloud Formation, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Chef etc.
- Experience with Jenkins, pipeline DSL, JobDSL, Groovy
- Experience with Nexus and/or Artifactory
- Experience with containers/PaaS (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaaS platforms (mainly AWS and OpenStack)
- Strong operational experience with the Linux environment
- Expert debugging Compute, Storage and Network issues
- Experience with Version Control Systems. We use Git, Mercurial
- Knowledge of make-based build systems will be a plus
- English: read/write technical documentation, communicate efficiently with a globally distributed team via emails and phone calls
