For over 17 years I've been working as a Python backend engineer. More recently I worked on blockchain/Web3 projects in Rust.

I am comfortable taking responsibility for the whole project, not just writing backend code. Depending on what the project needs, I can contribute to architecture, infrastructure, databases, frontend, CI/CD or testing. I enjoy understanding existing systems, making careful changes, improving reliability and taking features all the way to production.

Most of my experience is with mature production systems rather than greenfield development. I have worked on integrations with external services, data migrations, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, technical documentation, large refactorings and legacy code.

I work well both independently and as part of a team. I am comfortable clarifying vague requirements, decomposing complex tasks, mentoring colleagues and discussing technical decisions.
