Project overview

Led the reliability and automation efforts for a large-scale multi-region cloud platform serving critical production workloads across few cloud regions. The team (up to 14 engineers) was responsible for maintaining high availability, performance, and security of distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Led SRE operations for multi-datacenter, high-availability cloud environments.
• Built and scaled the SRE team: hiring, mentoring, developing career paths, and establishing on-call culture.
• Designed infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform, Helm, and Ansible to automate provisioning, networking, and security.
• Managed Kubernetes, Istio, and Vault ecosystems: service mesh, authentication, secrets, and multi-region failover.
• Implemented reliable rollout and traffic management patterns (canary, warm-up) with automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Developed observability and monitoring stacks using VictoriaMetrics and Grafana; optimized alerting and incident response.
• Configured and tuned Nginx, Proxy Protocol, and syslog pipelines for secure load balancing and traffic analytics.
• Improved disaster recovery procedures and reduced RTO/RPO through cross-region automation and validation.
• Drove reliability culture through post-incident reviews, knowledge sharing, and retrospectives.
